Souad El Maysour's artistic research mainly questions notions of individual and collective memory and raises the question of domination. Her work is based on texts, still or animated images, sound and interviews. It engages the spectator in the exploration of territories. The purpose of collecting collected elements or fragments is to restore history or in some cases to repair its memory; in short, to constitute contemporary accounts of these observed territories.
The Projects follow a common protocol of quest, accumulation, documentation, during the idea's development. A personal journey during which she gleaned texts, words, images, sounds, objects, ways of doing things, gradually constituting the very body of the work.
