Andrea Lagos Neumann – Choreographer and Dancer
Chilean artist Andrea Lagos Neumann was born in Santiago de Chile and is the founder of NaOm Teatro, with which she works actively across Latin America and Europe. She is a choreographer, director, dancer, actress, and producer. In 2005, she completed her acting studies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and worked as an assistant at the university’s acting school until 2008. Between 2005 and 2015, she participated in various projects and was a member of Domo Teatro Chile and Ballet Pushpanjali. In 2017, she successfully completed her dance training at the bewegungs-art School for Dance, Improvisation, and Performance in Freiburg, and she now works as an independent artist.
Her recent productions have been presented at the E-WERK Freiburg Cultural Center and supported by institutions such as the Freiburg Cultural Office, LaFT Baden-Württemberg, the Fonds Darstellende Künste, and other funding organizations. These include Vom Schrei zur Bewegung (2025), a piece that highlights the voices of FLINTA* individuals who survived Latinamerica’s dictatorship; Golden Cup (2024), a solo dance performance exploring interpretations and perceptions of the female body; and Lysistrata (2023), a performative work on the theme of war featuring FLINTA* participants.
Artistic Vision: For Andrea, dance, theater, and music are spaces to explore utopias and fantasies. Her work engages deeply with themes of migration, identity, memory, and human rights.
