Unknown – Photos and Prints

Armenian photographer and printmaker Tiruhi (Tina) Gevorgyan studied piano in Yerevan and photography online in Saint Petersburg. Following various residencies and exhibitions in Armenia, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, and France, she is currently a resident artist at Atelier Mondial in Freiburg.

The artist works with both photography and printmaking. At times, she finds a digital photograph insufficient on its own; she prints it on paper and develops it further into a photozine or photobook—a second phase in her creative process that lends the photographs a more tactile quality.

In her residency project, the artist explores a new environment, observing how an individual reacts to being alone in a completely unfamiliar space. The project centers on experiencing Freiburg and its surroundings—and on how staying in a different place shapes her perception of that environment. Her work will be presented in an exhibition from November 5 to 8 at T66 Kulturwerk.
