Miriam Barth
Colour, material, craft, haptics, feeling, scent.
These six terms accompany me constantly in my work as a textile and product designer. Personally, I am particularly concerned with the study and research of different materials as well as finishing methods. On the one hand, my passion is colour, which ranges from colour concepts, colour effects and colour production to dyeing and screen printing. At the moment, I am particularly immersed in the craft and history of different dye preservations. My research focuses on the interplay between material, dye and technique. Due to my personal devotion to nature, I am also very interested in working with natural raw materials and the use of local resources that come from our agriculture or food. I am fascinated by the colour spectrum and the healing properties of individual plants. In my work, it is my concern to share my knowledge and what I have learned with my fellow human beings in order to gain renewed space, awareness and appreciation for the textile.
