Daniel Kurth

Daniel Kurth graduated with a Master in Fine Arts from the Institut Kunst in Basel in 2017, after completing a Bachelor in Music and Media Art at the Bern University of the Arts in 2013.

Daniel deals with concepts of property, performance, labour, freedom, truth, production and value, as well as notions of hierarchy, authority, movement and mobility. He works in the media of text, drawing, object, video, sound and space.

Together with Karin Borer, he co-organises the exhibition project Stretcher in Basel. He sees curating exhibitions as a form of (co-)authorship and an integral part of his artistic practice.

Daniel's works have been shown in numerous exhibitions, including at the Kunsthalle Bern and the Kunsthalle Basel.

In 2020, he was awarded an Aeschlimann-Corti Scholarship from the Canton of Bern. In 2019 he took part in the La Dépendance residency programme.
